Express yourself completely. Then keep quiet. Be like the forces of nature; When it blows, there is only wind; When it rains, there is only rain; When the clouds pass, the sun shines through. -Tao te Ching
Today hit 100 degrees so there was no gardening to be done outside. Standing still is not something I do well, so I browsed the Internet to research planting Hollyhocks, making compost and building a greenhouse/shed. I went in search of unusual garden art too.
I realized with all this down time that sometimes I just don’t know what to do with myself when it seems I have too much time on my hand. Hanging with what’s so when what’s so differs slightly or significantly from what I think should be so is a bit of a challenge for me.
The quote referenced in this post was found today and called to me pretty quickly. It is a reminder to embrace the moment whatever it brings, even if it means you can’t prune the roses until early evening.
So after having my fill of computers and garden magazines, I took a nap. Merlin woke me up, pawing me several times demanding attention. He stood still only when I rubbed his ears. Okay, maybe I didn’t slay any dragons today, but I paused long enough to know I have it pretty good. Not a bad day when you think of it. Merlin thought so too.
