Going the Distance

A friend of mine provided me a lovely gift of a magical door, and a key to that door was offered by a hummingbird.  It inspired me to paint this painting, like I was standing before the door of knowledge and I just needed to find the key.  I took in the trunk of a wise and old maple tree, the vision of a woman trying to speak through the trunk, and followed my instincts from there.  The next step of opening the door is another painting, I suspect, but I can’t help but feel there is something nudging me, perhaps you, to go further in my path/your path.

So many of us, especially now, are at the door trying to discern our next steps with life and the things most important to us.  If we listen, we might learn the truth of what that next step is.  There are those, like the frog at the steps of the door in this painting, that are giving us the cue, telling us to take the step, however uncertain the path beyond.

We need to pay attention.  Find the key.  Take the step inside.  The answer always lies within.
